The realization of the fact that we are ignorant is the greatest realization of all and when a man realizes so, he should know that he is on the threshold of gaining all the knowledge that has ever been in the world. what we need to understand is that this acceptance is in no way a self demeaning act. It is nothing but the acknowledgement of truth and demolition of the false shield of ego which we have woven around ourselves like a silk worm. It is on the demolition of this ego that the doors to knowledge are flung open. It is commonsense that before we ask for more tea, we should first empty our cups.
